About Tour

Concert also on April 4 if the April 3 concert is sold out.

Résonances francophones weaves subtle links between cultures, eras, and aesthetics in a sensitive dialogue between cello and piano.

Mel Bonis’ deeply lyrical sonata, a rare gem of the French repertoire, opens the program, followed by Anne Lauber’s delicate Quebec piece, Tiarella. Revisited iconic melodies—André Gagnon’s Le Vaisseau d’or, Debussy’s Clair de lune, Poulenc’s Les Chemins de l’amour—create an intimate space where the cello becomes a true singing voice.

François Dompierre’s theatrical and whimsical Les Diableries adds a touch of humor before giving way to Nadia Boulanger’s sensitive miniatures. As a grand finale, César Franck’s sumptuous Sonata, a monument of Franco-Belgian Romanticism transcribed for cello, concludes this program with majesty and intensity.
